Another Custom Project
The holiday season is a great time to give the gift of longboarding. A good friend David Cartu ordered a custom printed board for his sister for Hanukkah. The image was a Leopard print, printed and applied by Mark from Stick Stick Bang Bang.
Longboard Living is stoked to offer digitally printed custom images on longboards.

Longboard Living x BOZ Boards x Bustin Boards
This past weekend was a huge milestone for the East Coast / Urban longboard industry as Bustin Boards opened their first retail board store at 340 Grand St. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. Until now they had been bringing in sales through the magical internet store at www.bustinboards.com.
The shop has a signature wheel wall organized by durometer, a great selection of trucks, complete decks and will carry boards other brands as well, including Longboard Living and BOZ Boards.
Congratulations to Ryan and his team at Bustin Boards for achieving this milestone and setting the industry standard high.

Longboard Living x Andrei Calinescu
Longboard Living has had the opportunity to work with many great photographers while accomplishing a mission to "capture" this lifestyle. For the riders, everyday is a new experience as the route home is never the same and the strength of the push is constantly increasing. You are always in the moment and it is such a pleasure to have that moment captured. This past summer we worked with a budding photographer named Andrei Calinescu. It helps that Andrei is a longboarder himself and has an eye and a love for longboarding.
Upcoming projects will involve a photo shoot with all Longboard Living Team Riders.

Jimmy Chiale solo art show ft. LBL
Jimmy Chiale laid the smack down on every inch of canvas, wood or cotton that he touched for his solo art show at Marc Anthony Hair Salon last night. His new pieces are a perfect fusion of abstract surrealism full of color and smooth lines. The DJ was live and the venue was perfect for a featured artist event. Jimmy is a resident stylist at the salon - 38 Avenue Rd. @ Yorkville Ave. and his pieces will remain on display and on sale.

Broadway Bomb 2009
New York - New York
Endless streets and wheels that roll is all you need to surf this co
ncrete jungle. For the second year in a row I made it down to NYC for the Broadway Bomb. An annual race starting in 2000 with 14 riders has now called out over 250 riders from NY and around the world. I was joined with fellow Canadian, business partner and friend, Mike Boz from BOZ Boards. Unfortunately the Megabus arrived late and I couldn't race his new model but I still made the top 30. Bustinboards (www.bustinboards.com) was repping push culture to the fullest at this event with the majority of riders on their boards and everyone screaming BUSTIN!
It was an inspiring week, amazing vacation and a joy to push my limits in the biggest city in the world.
As much as Longboard Living is a company, I often forget it is the lifestyle i aspire to live my life by. Trips like these, and in New Orleans last may are good reminders of the joy that longboarding / traveling brings. It was great to meet so many amazing people full of stoke and passion for the lifestyle. I will begin filming this Saturday in an effort to capture the lifestyle of a city surfer and help spread the stoke to others.
Spreading the stoke,
Ryan Rubin

Jamie Roy has the FLOW
So, Jamie is not only one of the top producing artists on the label, he has been the gateway artist for a collaboration between Longboard Living and the Funktion Gallery. I stopped in to the gallery at 1244 Bloor St. West last winter shortly after they opened the shop. A few weeks later stumbled upon Jamie's Facebook profile pic which included the Funktion logo and I inquired about his interested on a collab. This lead to a board called "Creative Chaos" and features his tag name JAMS.
David Vasquez
I met with david last spring while he was selling his art in Yorkville. He liked the concept of the Mobile Canvas and agreed to collaborate on a series. The board on the right was the first in the series, the other was a custom order for client and team rider, Oliver Terry. Longboard Living is pleased to offer board by David Vasquez.

Longboard Photography by Reilly Rightmyer
Reilly has been an asset to Longboard Living with her ability to accurately capture the lifestyle I am striving to create. Her lens seems to work will with my vision. As today is Reilly's birthday I am stoked to wish her a year of happy and safe riding. Reilly picked up a custom longboard painted by Mischa Pillon last April and has been helping rep the brand ever since. Check out the Reilly's photography, and
Jimmy Chiale x Longboard Living
It was about a year ago that I met with Jimmy while he was hustling abstract art in Kensington. The idea to have local artists paint on my boards came to me while riding the city and passing by so many amazing painters with unique styles. I like to see art outside of a gallery, on a brick wall or for sale on the sidewalk, there is something very natural about it. So, Jimmy and I began collaborating on longboard art, a.k.a a Mobile Canvas. This board is the second piece Jimmy has painted for a collaborative retail relationship with North Trooper sneaker shop at 69 Yorkville. Jimmy will be continuing his collection with Longboard Living. For originals or custom orders, email longboardliving@gmail.com.

Nuit Blanche
Tonight is Nuit Blanch in Toronto. A night when the city of Toronto becomes an art gallery full of installations and open gallery doors welcoming swarms of people into the mystical art world. Longboard Living attended the night last year (see pic) sporting a classic Charlie Dunnham longboard...The board that started it all!
